Featured Artist Cathy Ashworth

Born and raised in the Los Angeles area, Cathy is a self-taught, self-representing artist. Her portrait paintings tell the story, feelings and strength of women with a mostly Dia de los Muertos theme. It is her favorite subject to paint. While always trying to paint these images realistically, they’re not always painted academically correct. The work and technique are always evolving. With a passion for painting on canvas, Cathy’s artistic endeavors also include mixed-media works, printmaking, illustration and jewelry making. Cathy works as a full time artist in the Los Angeles area.

Cathy created the artwork for the 2014 Blue Milagro Dia De Los Muertos Festival Poster.
